- Research: Devon’s research centers on mechanisms of neurodegeneration within dopaminergic systems, including how α-synuclein pathology differentially impacts substantia nigra pars compacta and ventral tegmental area neurons through metabolic stress, calcium dysregulation, and circuit-level vulnerability. His projects further examine transneuronal α-synuclein propagation from the midbrain to the dorsal vagal complex and its peripheral consequences, sex differences in dopamine dynamics following methamphetamine exposure, and neuroimmune responses to fungal infiltration by Candida albicans, linking central dopamine dysfunction to systemic pathology.
