Entering Research Course

MARC GatorSTAR Trainees will enroll in a one-credit “Entering Research” course designed to continue their social, academic and professional development as they transition into laboratory research with a UF faculty mentor. Enrollment in this course will typically occur during a student’s their first semester participating in research, or the first regular semester as a MARC Trainee, whichever comes first.

Course learning outcomes include identifying a research mentor, writing a research project proposal, and being able to present one’s research in a public venue. This course is listed in the UF undergraduate course catalog under Biology as BSC3911 “Entering Research in Biology”. The course is based on the “Entering Research” program from UW-Madison.
